Watch out for the bump!

Last night I loaded a test map as Libya, so I could check out the finishing touches I've been putting on the Scorpion Raider voxel, and testing its behavior and how its weapon code is working, and it occurred to me how much the Demo Truck voxel has annoyed me. The thing doesn't have its own image, instead it shares the image of that civilian truck that you see on lots of maps. I can't count how many times I've hovered my cursor over civ trucks to see if they're really demo trucks. Plus, where's the nuke symbol? The cameo has a nuke symbol, and the loading screen shows a nuke symbol, so where's the nuke symbol on the Demo Truck? Besides, the little truck is so puny. So I decided to fix it.

The payload is taller, wider, and longer, and there's two axles in the rear to "carry the larger load". I know the nuke symbol is pretty indistinct, but there's not much you can do with 5x6 pixels. All in all I think it's a decent improvement. I'll be modifying the cameo so the image matches the truck's larger dimensions.

I'm back.

Yes I am well aware it has been several months without updates here. Suffice it to say that I am back and progress on the mod has resumed. Completion of the current beta basically depends on finishing up the final Beyond Revenge unit (tentatively named "Scorpion Raider"), and the writing and testing of some additional Beyond Revenge AI code. No I cannot give an estimated date of completion. But I can tell you that this is intended to be the last private beta before the next public release.

In any event there was a file I was going to bundle with the mod, but decided it would be better if offered separately. It's a blank BINK video which effectively prevents the playing of the EA/Westwood logo video on game startup. It works for both YR and RA2. It's a really tiny file, and all you have to do is put it in your RA2 folder, and you won't see the logo video anymore, no matter what mod you play, or even if you play no mod at all.
