Grand Rapier Missile

Here's a first look at what France can build in Beyond Revenge mode:

French Grand Rapier Missile

Given their reliance on the awesome defensive capability of the Grand Cannon, it comes as no surprise that France would develop an equally powerful anti-air defensive emplacement. The result is the Grand Rapier Missile system. Its missiles use a unique "shockwave" warhead, which not only does heavy damage to aircraft on impact, but also does collateral damage to any other aircraft unlucky enough to be in the detonation vicinity. Equally important to the effectiveness of this new missile system is its long range, meaning that a single Grand Rapier can cover an incredibly large area. The overlapping coverage of several Grand Rapiers can create a defensive screen that no aircraft can penetrate.

When faced with airborne infantry, the Grand Rapier automatically switches to small, but highly lethal, rapid-firing seeker missiles. Like the Grand Cannon, the Grand Rapier Missile system can become even more effective with experience. French military planners are certain that they have given their commanders the ability to turn their bases into impregnable fortresses - as long as base power is uninterrupted, of course.

New Screenshots

Thanks to some contributions from our forum members, I have some new screenshots to gawk at. I have a few others I'd like to put up as well in the coming days, but I can always use more. If you've got a good in-game shot of CannisRules, then please send it on, or remote link the image somewhere so I can get it.

CR on the PC Gamer UK DVD!

This may be old news to some, but this month's issue of PC Gamer UK (DVD edition) includes CannisRules among their featured mods on the DVD. I've waited until actually seeing the DVD for myself to say anything about it here, and being a deprived Yank who can't get the mag for himself, I've had to rely on Concolor1 to obtain and ship me a copy (thanks buddy!)

CR on the PC Gamer UK DVD!

For those of you who've found this site by clicking the little "Visit Web Site" button, welcome! I hope you've been enjoying playing my mod. Perhaps you've noticed when trying to play any of the Assault modes, there are maps listed but no map previews, and no maps load. That would be because you don't have the maps. When downloading the mod from here, I have a popup which yells at people to go get the maps - you've managed to avoid this. So, without further ado, go get both Assault Mappacks and check out the new game modes. Assault adds a unique new strategy of play which you don't want to miss.

While you're here, I'd also like to invite you to explore the C-GEN network. There are several other mods, add-on levels, and projects here, some ready to download and play right now, and others in various stages of development. Feel free to join our forums if you wish. You don't have to be a modmaker or mapmaker to participate - our forums welcome all gamers too.
