Normally I like to use this space to talk about what new stuff I'm doing with CannisRules. Today, sadly I find it necessary
to use this space to talk about something that I shouldn't have to talk about. What I'm about to say does not apply to the
overwhelming majority of visitors to this site, and to those people I sincerely apologize for subjecting you to this. For
those that the following does apply to, well you know who you are, and this is to put you on notice.
On the Credits page of this site, it clearly states:
All content, files, images, etc. on this site are copyright © 2002-2005 by
CannisRabidus. No reproduction of any of this material is permitted for any reason unless
express permission is given by the Author, or in the case of material used by permission, the owner(s) of that material. All
trademarks appearing on this site are the property of their respective owners.
All game content contained in the CannisRules: Balance of Power modification for Yuri's Revenge, including but not
limited to voxels, cameos, animations, images, and coding, is copyright © 2002-2005 by
CannisRabidus and is the property of same, except where otherwise noted. Use of this material in
other games or modifications of other games is strictly prohibited, with the exception of material that has been publicly
released to PixelOps.
In short, don't steal. I mean it.
This is very straightforward and easy to understand. But, for the few who may not be able to understand the above, I'll
spell it out for you even more simply:
CannisRules is not a resource that can be "mined" for assets. Stealing what you find in CannisRules
for your own mod is not allowed. If you can't find a CR asset that you want on PixelOps, then I didn't make it available.
And if the CannisRules asset you want to use is not on PixelOps, then YOU CAN'T USE IT.
This applies to posting images on websites as well. YOU CANNOT use CannisRules assets on your website to advertise your own
mod. That is also stealing. Further, it is the responsibility of network sites to police the sites that they host. If a
hosted site features stolen material, the network site that is hosting that site is just as responsible as the owner of the
hosted site itself. As the webmaster of C-GEN, I would not hesitate to PERMANENTLY remove any site that I was hosting if I
discovered that site featured or in any way used stolen material... and I expect the same reputable behavior from other
webmasters that I expect of myself.
Naturally assets created by individuals other than myself, are owned by those individuals, and they are free to permit use
of their assets where and when they see fit. Additionally, there are a few individual arrangements made between myself and
other C-GEN network members which serve as the ONLY exceptions to the above.
Hopefully this is the first and last time that I will ever have to make a news post like this, and that I can get back to
the business of just making a mod for my enjoyment and for the enjoyment of others who happen to like it.
