Hey check it out, I am updating again. I have been very busy with this whole C-GEN project, leaving me very little time for modding, so thankfully spider-man has been continuing his excellent voxel work, which constitutes the bulk of the mod development progress this time around. The big deal today is the addition of a new "theoretical" country-specific unit that can be gotten from capturing a Secret Lab - the Iraqi Rad Artillery.

Iraqi Rad Artillery

The Rad Artillery is a somewhat fragile unit, that fires a shell containing radioactive waste. On impact it explodes leaving a smallish patch of relatively short-lived radiation. Some damage is done by the shell impact itself too, so the unit can damage and kill radiation-immune units as well. It does nothing to buildings though.

CannisRules is back!

In case you didn't know, RA2MG went down for reason(s) that I had no control over. Within a few days, I began looking for another hosting solution, and in fact a few very generous offers came looking for me (you guys know who you are, and I'm going to take this opportunity to thank you again). But I decided to create C-GEN and host myself for a couple of reasons. The first was I really didn't want to run out on everyone that was part of, and/or supported RA2MG. The other is I realize that CannisRules will "run its course" eventually, as everyone moves on to new games. It's my hope that C-GEN will continue on, changing/adding to its content to reflect the gaming interests of the online community that visits here.

Well enough of that, if you're here then you probably want to know what's up with the mod. If you look around the site you will notice that there's absolutely nothing new; this is because my main concern was getting it back up in the first place. The latest public release of the mod is available on the Downloads page, which is what counts. There has been some work done on the mod since the last development report, but that work has been temporarily set aside under the circumstances, as you might imagine. Hopefully I should have something new of substance to post in this space soon.

At the moment there are a few links on the FAQ page that are broken, this is because I have yet to begin setting up a C-GEN file archive section. I will be attending to this next. I also trashed the news archives, which really aren't needed anymore anyhow. I will be archiving news again from here on though.
