Confidential briefing from President Dugan, Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces:
Those who serve in the Allied armed services are the best, brightest, and bravest soldiers in the world. Their training is the most
rigorous and is always improving, and here you can see the results:
GI
Our GIs have fought bravely to bring us victory time after time, but shivering in their shirtsleeves on arctic battlefields has been
hurting their morale for some time. So we have finally requisitioned proper thermal uniforms for them. Never let it be said that I don't
stand behind our military!
New effect: A single GI will give voice feedback when ordered to deploy.
Guardian GI
This guy may still be slow, but his missiles are now faster, and are marginally more effective against infantry. Due to the
missiles' ineffectiveness against buildings, the GGI will no longer waste time targeting them at all - good news when he is
on a base assault mission while in a Battle Fortress. He'll ignore defensive structures and instead concentrate on targets
he can destroy in short order.
All this changes when the GGI becomes elite. At that point his missiles will become fairly effective against buildings.
Battle Fortresses loaded up with elite GGIs will make quick work of an enemy base. Either way, tanks will find no safety in
bunkers, as his missiles will penetrate the bunker, damaging and killing the tank inside.
New effects: Elite GGIs will fire red-trailed missiles, and a single GGI will make use of some unused voices when ordered to deploy.
Allied Engineer
Our skilled and expert Engineer continues unchanged in all respects... except for no longer sharing the same build option
icon with that of Romanov's evil empire nor that of Yuri's weak-minded version.
Allied Attack Dog
Through selective breeding, we have developed a strain of Attack Dogs which can attack more infantry in less time. No longer
are our dogs mere clones of their Soviet counterparts. Also, the Allied Attack Dog can gain experience and be promoted -
which won't take long if you provide a steady diet of enemy troops. This inbreeding slightly reduced the Sight range of
these new Dogs, but their trainers claim you'll never notice.
Keep in mind that a Soviet enemy who captures your Barracks will now be able to train our Attack Dog as well as his own!
Rocketeer
The venerable Rocketeer has been equipped with a higher-output rocket pack, allowing him to accelerate more quickly, travel
faster, climb over buildings faster, etc. Not only does this make him a better scout, but makes him an excellent
quick-response unit too.
Navy SEAL
The Navy SEAL's gun can now damage tanks at nearly the same rate as our GIs. So, expect him to shoot at enemy tanks on his own,
rather than wait until being fired upon. When on a mission in unfriendly waters, he can now detect submerged units (but at very
short range - he'll have to be virtually on top of them to see them). These changes taken together also mean that he'll have a
fighting chance against Squids and enemy Dolphins.
Sniper - Britain's Special Unit
Our British allies have overhauled their sniper training regimen. Today's Sniper can see further, can move faster, and wears
armor so he can survive longer. Most importantly, he now gets more shots off in less time, and can acquire targets at
greater distances. His range when elite is finally equal to that of an elite Virus. Also, Britain now equips their Snipers
with higher-powered rifles which always produce 1-shot kills. A single bullet from one of these rifles can even shatter a
Terror Drone!
Moreover, this better training produces a Sniper which is no longer distracted by tanks firing on him. Rather than waste
time shooting back at an armored vehicle or a defensive structure, he will single-mindedly continue to kill all infantry in
his sights. And I have to hand it to the Brits, they didn't stop there. An elite Sniper now gains the ability to shoot over
walls! As with all country-specific special units, the Sniper gains the Self-Healing ability at the Veteran level.
The Sniper can also shoot at infantry in the air. This means he can shoot down paratroopers and enemy Rocketeers. Note that
his performance against such targets is inferior to that of his performance against ground targets, in that it will take him
several shots to make such a kill.
Special Forces - USA's Special Unit - New!
I just signed an Executive Order requiring the USA to train a proper special unit. Maybe my opinion poll results will
finally improve. Think of him as a better-armored GI who doesn't need to deploy in order to rip tanks and buildings to
shreds. A total of 10 of these trained killing machines will arrive in 2 planes, and if more are needed, they can be trained
at the Allied Barracks for $600 each. Like our GIs, they can enter and garrison civilian buildings. Naturally, as a
country-specific special unit, Special Forces will Self-Heal beginning at the Veteran level.
Realize that in order for the USA to receive Special Forces paradrops, they will have to pay a premium to build their Air
Force Command Headquarters - the cost is $1500 rather than the $1000 that the other allies pay.
Spy
It is well known that Yuri's mind-control technology has all but rendered our Spy useless. We have revamped our espionage
training program to produce Spies with 2 new significant abilities: immunity to mind-control, and invisibility on enemy
radar. You can imagine the possibilities.
Unfortunately, a Soviet mole has smuggled out the details of our rigorous Spy training. This knowledge has somehow fallen
into Yuri's hands as well. Be aware that both Soviets and Yuri forces can now elect to deploy Spies against us! And, Yuri
has trained his Virus sniper to detect Spies, so make sure your agents stay out of her sights.
New effect: A Spy will make use of unused voice sounds when ordered to infiltrate a building.
Chrono Legionnaire
Naturally you are familiar with the ability of the Chrono Legionnaire to shoot over walls. What you may not realize is that
upon becoming elite, he actually lost this ability. This has been fixed, and now an elite CL can shoot over walls as
well.
Tanya
Commander, don't ever let Tanya hear you say she needs any sort of improvement. I am speaking from experience. Normally I
don't tolerate this sort of insubordination, but she was leaning over the table while she was carrying on so I wasn't
actually paying attention to what she was saying. Fortunately the First Lady was not present. Ahem, well getting back to the
subject at hand...
We found her performance when using C4 to blow up tanks to be a little on the slow side. So we put her through some
specialized training exercises. Despite her complaints, she did benefit from this, and can now C4 multiple tanks (or naval
vessels) in less time. She gets even faster at it when she becomes elite.
Her training has produced other benefits too. She is now a bit stronger and faster, and can also detect submerged vessels if she gets
close enough. As she is promoted, her speed increases, and when elite she won't crawl when under fire, instead relying on her
accelerated elite self-healing to keep her alive.
New effects: Tanya's creation voice is randomized among several possibilities (several are unused sounds), and her other voices
include her RA2 voices as well as the YR voices.
Now that the portion of the briefing outlining Infantry improvements is complete, let's move on to reviewing the advances
we've made to our Allied Vehicles.
